Program Information

The Automotive Technology Department at Fullerton College is committed to preparing men and women for employment in the automotive service and repair industry. The program and instructors are certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). We are also certified by the State of California Bureau of Automotive Repair to teach the BAR-90 Smog-Chek licensing course.

Our program provides students with an understanding of the automotive industry's requirements for employment, and helps them to acquire entry-level job skills. In addition to a strong background in technology, hands-on experience is emphasized.

Fullerton College has a complete automotive technology program with an excellent range of high-tech equipment and training aids.

Completion of the Automotive Technology program helps you to prepare for employment in the following areas:


Students from Fullerton College Automotive Technology department are working in new car dealerships, independent garages, and specialty shops all over Southern California. Many of our former students are now shop owners, managers, auto teachers, and manufacturer's service representatives.

The curriculum is flexible and will accommodate students beginning either Fall or Spring semester. Related work experience is encouraged while attending classes. Fullerton College maintains a Placement Department to help you find part-time employment.
