The Fashion Design Department at Fullerton is committed to preparing fashion students for professional careers in the Fashion/Apparel Industry. The faculty are trained and credential educators who have worked in the apparel industry and maintain professional affiliations. The faculty is committed to providing a quality education and help in achieving students’ goals and dreams of working in the industry.

Career Opportunities

Fullerton Fashion provides in depth training in the following areas: Fashion Design, Fashion Illustration, Fashion Merchandising, and Product Development.

Our curriculum offers Associates in Art Degrees in Fashion Journalism, Fashion Merchandising, Textiles and Clothing and Fashion Design plus eight Certificates.

Students are trained to enter the work force in careers as fashion designers, patternmakers, product developers, custom dressmakers, fashion buyers, retail managers and visual merchandisers.

The Fashion Department delivers hands-on experiences with a strong theory based education to acquire entry-level job skills.

Whether you are interested in college transfer, vocational training, gain or upgrading your fashion industry skills we can channel your talent and ideas. You will earn an education that you can apply to the real-world fashion industry.

Fashion Design Program

This program is designed to provide the student with a course of study leading to employment in the fashion apparel industry as an assistant designer. The assistant designer should be able to design and illustrate collections and create patterns manually and on the computer.

Fashion Merchandising Program

This program is designed to provide the student with a course of study leading to employment in the ready-to-wear industry, department store, specialty shops, and wholesale fashion showrooms.

Advanced Fashion Design Certificate

This certificate prepares students for a career as a Fashion Design Room Assistant or an Assistant Designer.

Patternmaker Certificate

This certificate is designed to prepare students for an entry level position as a patternmaker in the apparel manufacturing industry.

Product Development for the Apparel Industries Certificate

This certificate is designed to prepare students to work in the fashion design or merchandising fields developing apparel designs and/or lines of apparel for specific target customers.
